{ APPEARANCE } Thin, lyth, and slenderly built, Mara resembles an over-sized Egyptian Mau more than a Wild Bobcat. Her short, thick fur is a mixture of sunset orange, earthy brown, and star-lit silver, just as her twin brother Tau, expect she posesses many black spots while her brother has stripes. The tufts of fur beneath her jaw usually attributed to Bobcats is quite lacking and is not discernable unless closely looked at, this making her face shape more like a simple house-cat, pointed ears, curved muzzle, and all. Mara's most intimidating attribute would be her fierce eyes(matching her pelt color but appearing more gray) that are continually set in a glare to all she looks upon.
{ PERSONALITY } Mara is not the type you want to be trifling with. Though she is good about controlling her anger, she tends to fire up and fume at anything the least bit irritating, hence her ever-glaring eyes. Despite her short-fuse, Mara would rather walk away from a problem then confront it, not willing to waste her time or energy on something that cause her to make a fool of herself. The only time she does lash out is when her twin brother, Tau, is messed with; and once you unleash Mara, there's no going back. Mara isn't the best with words and often what she says comes out wrong or she struggles to piece her thoughts togther in a complete sentence, resulting in stuttering that only makes her frsutrated. Because of such, Mara restrains herself to speaking only with her brother and to others only if the situation calls for it, often leaving Tau to finishing her sentences. Mara has never been seperated long from Tau, especially after she almost was shot by a human, and being done so is one of her most secret and worst fears. Although she can be a bit snappy to him sometimes, Mara loves him and only wishes the best for him on their travels.
{ HISTORY } Mara and Tau were born to a normal litter of 4, having both their mother and father along with their other two brothers. Growng up in the tight-knit family, Mara was always the one picked on by her other two brothers, Tau not doing much while they jeered at her for her lack of muscle and bobcat tufts. As a result of such, Mara became bitter and took the insults with silence, her mother the only one whom offered her solice and softened her hardening heart.
One day, some years after their birth, Mara's eldest brother took his jeering a bit too far and Mara snapped. The result was a quick scathing and punishment from her father for nicking her brothers ear and shredding the tufts on his neck. Despite what she thought, Mara's troubles escalated. The jeering continued and became non-stop until one day, Tau, who had been watching this happen for years, stepped up and finally put an end to the other two brother's fun with a quick swipe of the paw and stinging words. Thus began the bond between Mara and Tau.
4 years after birth, Mara and Tau had formed the bond of brother and sister that had been lacking from their birth and kit-hood. Their other two brothers had left the family as soon as they had learned to live on their own, never to be seen again. Mara and Tau tended to stay with eachother and frequently visited their parents after making seperate dens near to their mother and father's home. Still, Mara kept the independant spirit she had harnessed through her life. All was well until one day, while Mara was out alone on a hunt and stumbled into a hunters trapping cage, lured by the scent of freshly killed rabbit. The humans then came, ripped her out of the cage, and aimed to shoot. Fortunatly, Tau was near-by and managed to warn off the hunters with loud growling and a few nice bites. Bleeding but alive, Mara was cared for by Tau and the bond of sibling-hood was sealed and unshakable.
Ever since then. Mara had journeyed with Tau, willing to follow him wherever he wishes, as long as it isnt somewhere dangerously stupid. The young Bobcat has walked for 3 years with the promise on her shoulders that one day, she will repay her brother for saving her from the jaws of death.
