In the year 2099 the animals that once ruled our world were all but gone and the chances of them surviving were far from possible. Upon the New Year as the fireworks were to be blasted into the night sky. A glowing obscurity appeared in the sky followed by a long silver tail. The world fell quiet as everyone witnessed the beaming light fall to earth. Every bystander who witnessed the fall saw it as a beautiful falling star. Later on searches were held to find the remains of the star. Eventually it was documented as being seen from every corner of the globe, a true phenomenon. Hours after witnessing the falling star it was located 700 miles north of Athens, Greece. A rock was found and taken by astronomers. Hours after the stone left Greece, an epidemic of an unknown disease began killing the residents of Athens. Doctors had never heard of the unusual influenza which would slowly eat away at your major organs, killing you in 24 hours. Upon blood test doctors discovered fragments of Uzonium. This substance was a mineral scientist believed was the leading factor in heating up Venus's core. By January 5th over 200 cases had been diagnosed in Greece and over 100 dead in Athens. In Washington DC 10 cases of the rare influenza had been diagnosed and 5 were dead. It was believed that the disease could only be spread by touch however there was no certainty.
By January 20th over 10,000 were reported dead all over the world, Cities were slowly being wiped out and every person who had every made contact with the rock had died and spread it to someone else. By March over 50 million were reported dead and major cities such as New York, London and Sydney were all deserted. There was no stopping the disease and by April the earth was quiet. All that remained were animals, finally in the first time for billions of years animals ruled again. Among the ancient ruins big cats would make their mark on remnants of civilization.
The animals no longer had humans to fear, and it is all thanks to one mineral that went across the universe to wipe a species. But with humans gone will the once endangered animals rise up again and out rule all other species. Or will war break out between species causing extinction, or will romance blossom and new breed be born?
